Fakes
One of the biggest reasons why you have to be careful when you are buying online is that there are just so many people who sell fakes. We have seen a large rise in this over the years and it is still very difficult for a number of retailers to actually recognize that fake pieces are being sold on their sites. Ultimately if there is a high end piece that you are looking for then it may be much better to see the product in person first.
Not Quite Right
Because so many of us desire luxury items such as clothing yet won’t spend the vast sums which are involved with getting those pieces, many of us will look for discount websites. The thing is however that these sites are selling goods which were made by the same factory but which were deemed to be of poor quality and so they were rejected. Luxury brands do not want defective goods on the market as it harms their brand, and they also don’t want to see products on sale at bargain basement prices for the same reason. If you see high end luxury goods on sale with massive discounts then you should approach with a lot of caution.
No Returns or Support
If you do buy a product which is a defect or a fake you are not going to have a leg to stand on in terms of rights. The internet is, in the main a largely unpoliced place and there are very few sites which have policies which protect their buyers in terms of the things that they have purchased. There is a very slim possibility that you may have some level of protection if you buy with a credit card but you have to recognize that buying online is fraught with danger. On most websites if you do pick up a product that turns out to be faulty or fake, you are going to have a very difficult time getting that issue resolved.
If the item is costly and you don’t feel comfortable then simply do not take the risk, if the product is low cost then trust your gut with regards to whether you will buy it or not.
